Christmas on Te Komititanga Square
I could not welcome in the new year without sharing an impression of the holiday zeal in Auckland. It’s about Christmas, as this panorama of Te Komititanga Square illustrates, but overall the decorative expressions in public places are muted. And few houses in the suburbs are bedecked with Christmas lights or other holiday ornamentation.
With 26 Celsius temperatures upon us, the celebration amongst Kiwis is perhaps more so about the summer holiday and the grand exodus to bach & beach.
Happy New Year everyone! May some sense of sanity and reason be restored.
