Such a contrast from the lush green and colourful landscape to the urban shapes and colours of the built waterfront. Both present such interesting complexity. Thanks for capturing these so thoughtfully.
Hi Leyette. Happy New Year to you, Paul and the family! Your comments are always spot on, so thoughtfully and generous. Thank you. As Kiwis, Randolph and I have experienced four years of contrasts - the sylvan and farm ambiance of Cornwall Park followed by the urban landscape of Wynyard Quarter. We would have expected both locales to have their charms, and we have not been disappointed. Like so much in life, in change there are trade-offs. What makes urban life more bearable for my country lass is that Randolph has her scholarly resources close at hand in Auckland Central, along all of the cultural amenities she dearly loves, and yet with brief travel we can find beach and other natural beauty. It is, I believe, about making the best of one's circumstances, and we both feel very, very fortunate indeed to be living in our wee spot in the world where the best of one's circumstances is mightily good. Again, thanks so much for your regular reactions to my posts. Be well, and here's hoping that your move is imminent and will be everything you and Paul imagine it could be.
very cool. It looks like a hand painted postcard from the 1930's or 40's.
