Public Record - Ponsonby art gallery
I was struck first by the beautiful tile work at the base of the display window.
My eye moved next to the impressive earth-toned vase with its equally expressive wood block stand, and then to the delicate strings suspended from a textile.
Finally, the upper third of the display window pleased me, it being a reflection of the Ponsonby Road boundary of Western Park. The park is notable for its sylvan beauty, but also for a most unusual art installation, a portion of which can be seen in the image above, although it is partially obscured by a curb-side tree.
The park’s Wikipedia entry highlights the art installation:
Most significant of the new works are the sculptural artworks by sculptor John Radford which are a feature of the flat area directly adjacent to the Ponsonby Road. The three sculpture works by Radford represent pieces of buildings that once stood in Auckland, artistically sunk into the ground in the manner of ancient ruins.
In a separate post I will feature Radford’s sculptural artworks, called TIP, found in Western Park.
The building featured in this post’s image is home to the Public Record art gallery.

I particularly like the way you have captured so many interesting elements into a seemingly simple ‘snap’ of a shop window. 👍🏼✅
