NZ visual diary - entry 17
Silo Park - silo and stairs
This proud centurion casts a watchful eye over Wynyard Quarter from its sentry post at Silo Park.
Once asked to serve a prosaic role as cement storage container, it has in its dotage been elevated by more noble purpose: cinema screen for a summer movie series, heritage object and for me visual curiosity.
I am haunted by stairs impossibly disjointed. Is there a soul, sufficiently intrepid, willing to climb this perilous promontory?
I stand afar to gaze in wonder, content to demonstrate my courage by calling this image art.
