Autumn - Civic Theatre
I have extolled the interior atmospheric wonder of the Civic Theatre in a previous post.
While considerably understated and restrained when compared to the building’s interior, the exterior of the Civic Theatre along Queen Street is handsomely embellished with Art Deco style elements.
With a horizontal frieze of dancing sylvan faeries that runs the length of the Queen Street facade and vertical panels of signature geometric vectors of the Art Deco style, the exterior is a refined and elegant statement of architectural splendour. I also greatly enjoy the crest to the right of the frieze, which combines visual motifs of floral and sun imagery.
The lovely shape and striking autumnal colour palette of the curb-side tree, impressed upon the building facade, makes for a visually fetching image.
