yeah, it's all salad, all the way down. thanks for noticing the effect and commenting on it. I have been experimenting with visual effect, especially the artistic concept of figure and ground. The modern building in the background looms so large in the photograph. I knew I had to do something to draw and keep the viewer's eye on the foreground (the figure). So I blurred the background using a (digital) paint brush technique. Not only is the eye drawn to the figure, our visual sense is fooled into thinking that the entire perspective of the image has changed - it has been miniaturised. I suspect a painter would say that I could have painted -in less blur to lessen the distinction between figure and ground and thereby reduce the visual confusion, the perspective bending. year nah. thanks again for the comment. lettuce have more of them :)
Hi Rich, still enjoying your view of your Kiwi home town.. The Doctors' Houses are great. Lovely buildings. On close examination you can't tell they are occupied by fast food restaurant which, is pretty amazing. You'd expect signs attracting customers and far less business without signs.
It all raised my interest in how restaurants in NZ 'present' and 'promote' themselves and then, also, if there are fast food categories that would be totally 'foreign' to so many of your subscribers 'over by here' in the land of fast food. Cheers mate!
Love what u did with that ap setting tomato them look like toy houses
