NZ Visual Diary - entry 188
Auckland Central - urbanscape
I keep one foot deeply rooted in sylvan scenery.
There’s a grove of cherry blossom trees in the fabled Cornwall Park at One Tree Hill that when flowering is stunning. The park’s Facebook page provides some background:
We have a range of different cherry blossoms in the park from the Taiwanese Cherry Blossom to the Japanese Cherry Blossom. A staff favourite is the Taiwanese Cherry Blossom because the Tuis live in them and drink the flowers nectar - we know that if we are near them we will hear the Tui's song. They are located in the eastern area of the park and near the ginkgo trees.1
The other foot hops along the streets and alleys of my adopted city Auckland.
I am always looking up for a sighting of an architecture photographer’s urbanscape.
always look up
movement; shadow and dappled light; palettes of colour and tonality; complex geometries; solidity and weightlessness
