Wintergarden - Auckland Domain
On a late winter’s day, on a day that begged you to sing joyously (in a quiet place), on a day that urged you to walk ‘til your legs ached, I took a photographic stroll home from the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
It was late afternoon and the slant of a sinking sun hit the Wintergarden building at a perfect angle, at an angle that a photographer works hard to find and delights when found.
There is room enough for the purity of black & white, for an image that insists on one’s full attention - no distractions; and there is sufficient space for the celebration of colour.
