NZ Visual Diary - entry 248
summertime - Te Komititanga Square
The haunting absence of pedestrians during New Zealand’s two-year border closure, as the country embraced a COVID elimination strategy, helps explain my exuberance over the return of city dwellers and tourists alike to Auckland’s city centre streets.
With the onset of summer and school holidays, I am giddy over the opportunities to photograph fellow street walkers.
The streets are lively again and so are the renewed prospects for a photographer, like myself, who enjoys the richness of streetscape with a two-fold focus on people and architecture.
