NZ Visual Diary - entry 333
woman with umbrella resting
For early summer, it was a hot day . . . an early taste of an unforgiving sun.
She sat on a bench at the base of Maungawhau — the volcanic cone in Mt Eden, a suburb of Auckland — oddly dressed for the day’s weather, perhaps suggesting that she had left her home much earlier in the day when the temperature had been considerably cooler.
I love her patterned pants, the rich colour of her jacket and the way her feet barely kissed the ground, if her right foot touched at all.
