Auckland Ferry Building (details)
Built in 1912 and modelled on the San Francisco Ferry Building, The Auckland Ferry Building is the terminal for ferry service linking central Auckland to the suburbs on the North Shore, those in east and west Auckland, as well as the islands in the Hauraki Gulf.
The building was extensively renovated in the 1980s.
My photographs capture the top 2 floors and the clock tower of the four-storey structure. I remain conflicted over which of the two renderings I prefer.
For those of you who have some familiarity with my photography portfolio, the images above may remind you of the photograph I rendered of the top floors and cornice of the 21c, Lexington's swank museum-hotel in the city centre.
21c Museum Hotel (Lexington, Kentucky)
The boutique museum-hotel, with its in-house art museum and dedicated art gallery spaces, is housed in the historic Fayette National Bank Building.
