At the corner of Fort Street and Fort Lane, just off of Queen Street, sits a lovely building that, although aged and weary, has retain more than a modicum of its dignity. The geometric shaped window architraves - an eyebrow above each of the three windows on level one - are charming.
Two restaurants, representing dominant cuisines in Auckland's CBD, inhabit its ground floor. The interior views of the two upper floors suggest residential apartments. The stairwell of a backpackers hostel can be seen at the image's left edge.
What immediately catches the eye is the oven flame constructed with neon lighting that flashes menacingly in the window at the right-hand edge of the kebab shop.
